Hot Air Balloon Training

(Deming)--The Great American Duck Race each year features a Hot Air Ballon Rally, and 
this year is no exception.
   To prepare for this year's event, Balloon Quackers Don and Glenna Damstra will be 
hosting a free Hot Air Balloon Basic Training Seminar on Saturday, August 6th.  
Training will begin at 9 am at the Deming Soccer Field.
   The hands-on training will include basic balloon skills including inflation of 
a Hot Air Balloon, weather permitting.  Orgainziers are asking that you bring a pair 
of gloves if you have them.
   After the training, you will be able to sign up to be a crew-person at this year's 
Balloon Rally.  Mass Ascensions are scheduled for around 6 am on August 27th and 28th, 
with a Hot Air Balloon Glow on Saturday night, August 27th.

   The Great American Duck race is an annual festival the fourth weekend in August.  
Beside the Hot Air Balloons, other events include The Duck Royalty Pageant, Tournament 
of Ducks Parade, Green Chile Cookoff, Tortilla Toss, Belt Buckle raffle, dances, 
Outhouse Race, entertainment, and live duck races on both a wet and dry track.
