(Deming)--Now is the time to jump on board as a sponsor of the 28th annual
Great American Duck Race, August 23-26.
   By now, most businesses should have information on this year's sponsorships.
We have added a new category, Platinum Corporate.  This is a new $10,000
sponsorship.  We have tried to price our sponsorships in a way that every
business can find one suitable to their situation.  Sponsorships run from the
Duck sponsor at $150 up to the major Platinum Corporate at $10,000.  All sponsors 
at the $450 level and above are considered balloon sponsors, and weather 
permitting will have the chance to go up in the Hot Air Balloon on Saturday 
or Sunday Duck Race weekend.  Sponsors at $750 and above are included in our 
advertising.  All sponsorship levels include the sponsor party dinner and 
special enbroidered sponsor shirts, plus tickets for various events.
   Each year expenses keep going up, including rental fees for the various
venues, advertising, duck track maintance and insurance for the event.  These 
cost are offset by generous business throughout the area.  We encourage every 
business to help make this year's Duck Race sucessful.

   Also, it is not too early to reserve your booth at the Duck Mart.  Various
vendors can display their wares at Courthouse Park Saturday and Sunday.  We 
accept applications from non-profit groups, craft type vendors, and or course 
food vendors.  Spaces run from a low of $25 for non-profits, to $255 for 
food vendors.  Full information and the vendor applications can be found on

   The Great American Duck Race is an annual event the fourth weekend in
August.  This year's theme is "It Showtime".  The movie theme will be used
in judging the Duck Royalty Pageant Thursday night, and the Comcast
Tournament of Ducks Parade on Saturday.
