(Deming)--Is it a bird, is it a plane, is it a duck?
   This year's Chino Federal Credit Union Hot Air Balloon Rally will feature a
special shape balloon, that fits right in with the Duck Race.  It's "Enchanted
Duckie".
   Internationally renowned pilot Roger Baldwin and his wife, pilot Kelly 
Baldwin, will be in Deming for the Balloon Rally on August 22nd and 23rd.
The couple are from Bosque Farms, New Mexico.
   The Enchanted Duckie Balloon is 77 feet tall, with a diameter of 71.7 feet. 
It holds a total volume of 116,000 Cubic Feet.  The balloon containes 1653 square
yards of fabric, and is put together with 4.1 miles of thread.  So when You
talk about a big duck, this one is it!
   Balloon Quacker Glenna Damstra said, "It's been a while since we have had
a special shape ballon of this magnitude.  We are so pleased to have him, and
hope everyone will come out".
   Besides "Enchanted Duckie", the couple also owns "Zulu", a Dragon Balloon, which
they will be flying in China over the Great Wall just a few weeks before the
Duck Race.  "Zulu will not be in Deming due to the time in shipping the balloon
back from China", said Damstra.
   Hot Air Balloon Mass Assensions are schedule for both Saturday and Sunday
mornings, August 22nd and 23rd, at about 7 am at the Soccer Field off Country
Club Road.
   A Balloon Glow is scheduled Saturday night, also at the Soccer Field, at about
8 pm.  All balloon events are weather permitting.
