Jungle Boogie Duck wins Pageant Here are the winner in the Duck Royalty Contest held Thursday night (August 20th) at the Public School's Auditorium. In the Just Hatched Categorty for ages 0-1, the winner was Aiden Nieto as Little Luck Chuck. Second place went to Jedidiah Dorrance as Jed the Wild Jungle Duckling. In the Little Waddler Category, for ages 2-4, the winner was Izabella Chacon as Quacky Perry Duck, with second place going to Zenovia Garcia as Fufurelliess. In the Downey Duckling Category, for ages 5-8, the winner was Cristal Enriquez as Wild Duck, with second to Selena Love Flores Baca as Jane the Wiggling Jungle Duckie. In the Darling Duckling Cagetory, for ages 9-12, the winner was Aubriana Gomez as Katy Quack, with second place to Ava Guevara as Khaki Estates Venetian Indigenously Noctornal K.E.V.I.N. And the BIG winner for the night was a Duck KING, with first place to Aaron "Nemo" Perales as Jungle Boogie Duck. The winner received $750 in cash from the duck race, plus $100 cash from First New Mexico Bank, a one night stay at Faywood Hot Springs, and other goodies (picture to left). Second place was awarded to Heather Shepard as Lady Jewel the Jungle Duck. Runner up received $500 cash.
2015 Duck Theme and Logo Announced
Get out the loin cloths and vines. The theme for the 2015, 36th Annual Great American Duck Race is "Jungle Duck".
Publicity Quacker Dave Johnson said that "this year's theme should make for some interesting costumes for the Duck
Royalty Pageant and Parade".
The year's logo was a combined effort. This year's artist was Jerran Duty, who recently moved to Deming from
Dallas, and is associated with the First Assembly of God Church. Finishing touches were added by Karl Bennett,
Anthony DuBois and Nancy Blakey with Karl's Embroidery at 121 S. Silver. Karl Bennett said "the art work is critical
as it represents this year's whole entire event." Since this was a new theme, the logo was developed from scratch.
Bennett also thanked the Duck Race committee for their involvement and suggestions.
The logo features a duck swinging from a vine in a rain forest (jungle) venue. The top of the logo features the words
"36th Great American Duck Race", with the year, and "Deming NM at the bottom. The logo is posted on the official
website at www.demingduckrace.com.

The theme will be used for judging at the Duck Royalty Pageant Thursday night, and the Tournament of Ducks Parade
Saturday morning.
Bennett has been associated with the Duck Race for over twelve years, and has in the past been responsible for not
only the screen printed retail T-Shirts, but also the embroidered staff and sponsor shirts and caps.
The Great American Duck Race is August 20th through the 23rd.
