Deming, NM – The Great American Duck Race is back as the community prepares to celebrate 47 years of tradition in Deming.
The theme for 2026 is “Outdoor Duck – Racing to the Great Outdoors,” a tribute to the adventurous spirit and natural beauty that define our region. From camping and hiking to fishing and time spent with family and friends outdoors, this year’s theme highlights the activities and landscapes that make our community unique.
Jorge Sanchez has been named the winner of this year’s theme contest. Thank you to all who participated and submitted creative ideas to help shape the direction of the 47th Annual event.
The official 2026 logo, inspired by the “Outdoor Duck” theme, will be unveiled soon and will be featured throughout the community and incorporated into the weekend’s festivities. The theme and logo will be reflected in events such as the Duck Royalty Pageant and the Tournament of Ducks Parade, as well as in decorations and promotional materials leading up to race weekend.
The 47th Annual Great American Duck Race will take place Thursday, August 20 through Sunday, August 23, 2026. For more than four decades, the Duck Race has been the trademark event of Deming, drawing visitors from across New Mexico and neighboring states for a weekend filled with entertainment, food, family activities, and of course, the fast-paced duck races that have made the event a regional favorite.
